My yoga journey effectively started at the Yoga Loft in Bethlehem, where I completed their 200 H TT in 2008. Jessie Thompson and Mel Robin, both inspiring teachers for me, encouraged me to continue my yoga studies with Iyengar Yoga- a style of yoga that focuses on exact alignment and strong refinement in asana and pranayama practice. For over 8 years now I have studied under Theresa Rowland at her Iyengar Studio in NJ. I have participated in various workshops led by renowned Iyengar teachers such as Dean Lerner, Kofi Busia, Sri Arun, Jenni Kapular (anatomy for yoga teachers ) and Lois Steinberg (Yoga Therapeutics). I also completed an introductory workshop on Yoga for Scoliosis with Theresa Rowland. In order to learn more about Yoga Philosophy and meditation methods, I studied at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale for the past year where I completed their advanced 500 H TT 4 years ago. In 2014 I completed Kinesiology and Therapeutic Yoga Intensive Training with Susi Hately. I still continue to study and practice Iyengar Yoga on a regular basis, as this method of yoga inspires my own practice and teaching style. By strongly focusing on alignment and refinement in our asanas, we can overcome bad postural habits—a big step towards fitness and health. In my teaching I also like to incorporate yoga props because it allows us to enjoy the benefits of a wide variety of poses, even the more difficult ones. I love to practice asana, I love to learn about asana and I love to teach what I’ve learned about asana.
